2012 Tax Reduction Opportunity for
Properties Damaged by

Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee

Several municipalities have approved a 50 percent reduction in property taxes for property value loses of 50 percent or more as a result of Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.

This is known as the Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee Assessment Relief Act. Counties, towns, villages and school districts have a deadline of Monday, January 30, 2012, to pass a resolution agreeing to participate.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO?

If the municipality that your property is located in is on the list below, contact the assessor’s office in your municipality BEFORE MARCH 1, 2012.
